Apostille or legalization?
Apostille
If the destination country is a member of the 1961 Hague Convention, an apostille issued in Mexico is enough. It is issued by the government of the state that issued the document or, for federal documents, by the Secretaría de Gobernación.
Consular legalization
If the destination country is not a member, the document goes through the competent Mexican authority and then the consulate or embassy of that country.

Frequently asked questions
Which comes first, the apostille or the translation?
It depends on the destination. Usually the document is apostilled first and then translated together with the apostille, but some countries require the translation itself to be apostilled. We confirm the order before we start.
What is the difference between a certified translation and a perito translation?
A perito traductor is authorized by a Mexican state court or the federal judiciary, and many Mexican courts, notaries and registries require their translations. A certified translation with a translator's statement is what most foreign authorities ask for. We arrange either one, depending on the destination.
Do you translate documents for USCIS?
Yes. We deliver complete English translations with a signed certificate of accuracy, in the format USCIS accepts.
I live outside Mexico. Can you still get my documents?
Yes, it is one of our most common requests. We obtain, legalize and translate the document in Mexico and send it to you abroad.
